Reveni Labs Lumo Light Meter On KickStarter
Reveni Labs is a Canadian company whose highly specialized products have become quick favorites with film and digital photographers alike. From oddball doohickies designed to cover the light meter on vintage Canon cameras. To super tiny hot shoe mounted reflective light meters. They’ve got their finger on the pulse of the film photography community.
Their latest product is the super cool and adorably tiny Lumo Light meter. The Lumo met its goal on Kickstarter after only 56 hours and a ton of film photographers are chomping at the bit to get their hands on this little bad boy!
What Is The Lumo Light Meter?
The Lumo light meter is a thumb-sized device that allows for incident and reflective light readings as well as being a fully capable flash meter with a 3.5mm trigger. The unit will have a light weight aluminum shell as well as aluminum buttons so it’s super premium right out of the gate.
And can we talk about how small this is? I mean, just look at the size of this thing! It’s barely bigger than a roll of film!
Lumo Light Meter Features
Sure, it’s made from top of the line materials. But the Lumo light meter delivers on features too!
You can measure light using either the incident meter or the reflective sensor. And the reflective sensor is forward facing so you can just point the meter at the scene. Anyone who’s ever tried to do an reflective reading using a light meter with an upward facing sensor knows how thoughtful this is.
The light meter has a full color screen that’s clear and easy to understand. It allows operation in shutter or aperture priority modes and even displays color temperature when using incident mode.
The flash mode can display flash duration as well as flash ratios. And the addition of a 3.5mm trigger means you can pop the flash remotely to measure the scene. Super handy for product photography or portraits.
And it even has a full on cine mode that allows for 180 degree shutter angle for whatever frame rate you’re using.
Everything about this light meter says it was built with the needs of photographers in mind. And the fact that it met its KickStarter goal in 56 hours is a sure sign that photographers are happy with the result! This one looks like a winner and I can’t wait to get my hands on it!
